Welcome all!

Hello and welcome to my blog!

My name is Tamás, and I have couple of years experience with plants – especially with bonsais. I have created this blog to share my passion, failures and successes with other plant lovers. Before I got my first bonsai, I thought that caring about a plant required huge experience and special resources. But with a bit of patience, dedication and reading a lot of sources, I have realized that it is not a rocket science.

My interest in plants started started, when I have purchased my first bonsai tree many years ago. It motivated me to start reading articles, later to buy books and finally to read scientific papers. Now at home I have not only a bonsai collection, but various other type of plants, lichens and fungi.

With time, my interest and knowledge for plants increased. Next to bonsai I wanted to learn more and add other types of plants to my collection. Lately I am interested in plant movement and plant interactions with its environment. Learing new things was not hard. There are many websites and printed sources where beginners can learn. On this blog, I would like to share with you my journey. I have a lot to learn and I am ready for this. I will seek plant nurseries and experts to help me learn more.

So I invite you to come with me on my journey in the kingdom of plants!

BUT… Recently … Continue reading Plants That Changed the Course of History – The pineapple

The Soil

Hello everyone, During the last months, I have talked about various plants and fungi, but I haven’t talked about something, which all of them need – except Tillandsien – and it is the soil. The soil is the key to start… basically everything. Imagine, without (clean, nutritious and healthy) soil there wouldn’t be agriculture, trees and … Continue reading The Soil
